Artificial Development CEO Marcos Guillen to Present CCortex Research and Product Plans at Accelerating Change 2005
Artificial Development, Inc., which introduced CCortex, the world’s first virtual brain, at the Accelerating Change 2003 conference on artificial intelligence technologies, announced today that Founder and CEO Marcos Guillen will discuss recent CCortex research and product plans at Accelerating Change 2005, September 16-18, at Stanford University.
CCortex, a 20 billion neuron simulation of the human cortex, runs on a supercomputer and has already undergone seven major revisions. Each neuron is assigned hundreds of variable parameters and connected to thousands more in order to mimic the full connectivity between real neurons in the brain.
Planned commercial products based on the CCortex technology will target medical and cognitive research, security and surveillance, and autonomous systems. The first product, CCortex Developer Box, a custom rack-mounted system, will be released in Q1 2006. CCortex Developer Box includes a 64 bit Spiking Neural Network Engine. Each Developer Box can represent up to 250 million neurons containing 11,000 synapses, and will be capable of updating a data matrix of 1.5 billion synapses ten times per second for real-time applications. CCortex Development Boxes can also be clustered together, increasing both the speed and the neuron count. In Q2 2006, a detailed virtual simulation of most of the human brain, excluding the cerebellum, will be released as a single rack system.
